LogBud.com is a great way to share your content, meet others, and make
money. Want to get started? Here's what you need to do to get
involved:
Step 1: Join
While we allow anyone to read logs (articles) on our site, in
order to contribute we need you to sign up (so we know who to share the
revenue with). You can
join here for free. Sign up, click the activation link that you'll receive in your e-mail, and you will be ready to go.
Step 2: Set Up Your ProfileIn
order to connect with others, you need to tell them a little bit about
who you are. At the top of the site, click "My Account" then click
"Edit Profile" (or you can just click here to edit your profile). Here
you'll be able to upload an avatar, which is just a small picture (make
sure it's appropriate). Then, add in your location (city or state, so
you can connect with people near you). Add a brief description about
yourself, whatever you'd like people to know.
Lastly, and most
importantly (if you want to get paid), you need to add in your Google
Adsense publisher ID (ie: "pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"). [Read below to learn
how to get a Google Adsense account]. That way, we'll be able to rotate
your ads into the articles properly so that you are paid out directly to
your Google Adsense account when people click on the ads.
Step 3: Create LogsLogs are simply articles on about whatever topic you choose that you publish on LogBud.com.
What is a good log?
- Original content. We do not want something that has been posted else.
- Informative. While we want you to write about stuff you're
passionate about, there is a subtle difference between a "log" and a
"blog". Sorry, we don't want to hear about what you had for lunch, or
your annoying coworker. You could write a review of the place you ate
your lunch, or a helpful article about how to be a good co-worker.
Channel your passions and thoughts into an informative article.
- In English. While we will definitely embrace users from all
countries, we do not have the infrastructure to monitor content in other
languages.
Ultimately, quality logs will gain popularity within the community of
LogBud.com users, as well as on the search engines because other
websites will want to link to your well-written logs. That will draw
traffic, and that is what will help you to make money. Speaking of
money…
Step 4: Start Earning MoneyWe all want to
make some extra money, and with LogBud.com you can, simply by submitting
your logs on our site. As the contributor of the log, you will be able
to receive 70% of the ad impressions on your logs. That means that out
of every 10 visitors that come to your log, 7 of them will see ads that
are paid directly to you when clicked on. Sounds awesome, right?
Here's what you need to do to get started. First you need to sign up for a
Google Adsense account here. (If you already have an Adsense account, you can skip this step). Click on "Get started with AdSense" not AdWords.
For
the primary URL, you can enter one of the URLs to your LogBud.com logs.
Make sure that you fill all of the rest of the information out
completely and accurately to ensure a quick approval. Since Google is
the one who will be paying you, make sure that you fill out all of the
necessary tax and payment information to ensure that you are paid in a
timely manner.
Once you have been approved, simply add your
pub-id that Google Adsense assigns you into your LogBud.com profile, and
your ads will begin to be rotated in 70% of the time on your logs!
Step 5: Engage With OthersWe have many different ways that
you can engage with other LogBud.com users. You can add other users as a
friend so that you can see when they publish new articles. Eventually,
you will even be able to celebrate with your LogBud.com friends when
they hit publishing milestones (coming soon). If you do not necessarily
want to connect with another LogBud.com user, you can still follow and
see when they submit new logs!
Another great way to engage with
other users is through our comment system. If you like a log or want
further information about a subject that a log was written on, then
leave the author a comment, I am sure they would love to hear from you!
Finally,
you can share your logs (and the logs that others write) with the rest
of the world. At the top of the log, just click the "Share" button, and
you can e-mail, print, or submit the current log to over 300 different
social networks and social bookmarking sites! That way, the logs can be
promoted and gain more visitors (and that means more money)!
That's
LogBud.com… it really is what you make it, and we hope you'll get
connected and share your knowledge! We're in it for the long haul, and
want to make this one of the best community of writers online, as well
as a great way for you to be able to make a passive income and grow an
audience for your writing. Enjoy LogBud.com!
