When I first started out learning to play the guitar I was completed frustrated, my hours and hours of practice never seemed to pay off, I could never perfect the songs I was trying to learn, in fact most the more I played it seemed the worse I got. I attribute my poor experience learning to play the guitar to learning on an unsuitable instrument, I was learning on an acoustic guitar with a really high action. An acoustic makes a poor kids guitar, you really had to strain to hit a clean note on the freeboard and it was destroying my fingertips at the same time. I have written this article to ensure you don’t make the same mistake I did and buy a guitar which actually makes learning to play a lot easier.
At this point I would like to state that your child will find it far easier to learn on a kids electric guitar, their action (this term refers to the distance between the strings and the fret board) is a lot lower and it takes about a tenth of the effort to push down the strings. Even if your child has decided they want an acoustic, trust me, they will have a far more enjoyable experience playing an electric.

kids guitar you can get for your money, the Squire mini Strat would be instrument of choice if I had to start all over again. The 3 single-coil pickups give the electric guitar a really great tone for the price, at around $100 you can’t really ask for anything more, this really is a bargain guys and probably the most playable guitar you’ll ever find!
An Ibanez Mikro would be my second choice, if you search around you can probably pick up this beauty from around $130 online. My only major fault with this guitar is it doesn’t have a tremolo bar, apart from that it’s a great instrument, and the two Powersound Humbucking pickups really give driven choruses a powerful punch.
That’s my two cents folks; if you buy any of the instruments I’ve recommended above I guarantee you can’t go wrong, what makes things better is that these really are high quality
cheap guitars. These instruments have great playability and will ensure your kids actually enjoy learning to play the guitar!
