Karaoke has endured a tarnished reputation for a long period of time ever since it became well-known in North America. It’s not exactly clear why this has happened, but it is probably due to a number of factors. For one, it just seems odd that some people with seemingly no talent get to sing while others are forced to listen to them. But perhaps the biggest reason why karaoke seems so corny is that many singers are just so bad. Karaoke has also been adopted in some seedy locations where people don’t seem to care one way or another that music is playing in the background. And if you think about it, almost every portrayal of karaoke in the media shows bad singers who are most likely drunk or rowdy. But what about karaoke today? Times have changed and if you still happen to think karaoke is corny, here are some reasons to change your mind.

4. Karaoke machines are cool. Granted, there was a time when karaoke machines where basically just tape players. But today they have many new features that make them awesome additions to any home entertainment system.
5. Karaoke is addictive. No matter how corny you might think karaoke is, give it a try and see if you don’t get hooked. Nothing changes the fact that it is incredibly fun and thousands of people enjoy it worldwide.
