It seems that among both men and women, there are those who wear hats, and there are those who don't. Men who wear hats generally wear baseball caps. For most, it seems like a sort of security blanket. It is also something that they use to identify with others with, since it shows that they are a fan of a favorite sports team. Women who love hats usually wear them for fashion. But there are some situations where women's hats are grossly underrepresented.
The first place where hats are underrepresented is church. The Bible actually says that women are supposed to wear hats in church, but men are not. Still, in most churches, very few women are wearing hats. Whether church goers do or do not believe in that portion of the Bible, it has always been a lovely tradition for women to wear hats at church. Now, that is fading.
Weddings are great for hats, too. Whether the wedding is inside a church or out on the lawn, a hat just tops off an outfit nicely. For formal weddings, you can go with a really fancy hat. More casual weddings are great for sun hats and big floppy hats. Just be considerate so that the people behind you can see.
Cocktail parties seem like they were made for fun hats. A short cocktail dress or
pink plaid skirt with a little wild
pink hat is just something fun to wear. The problem is that there are less hats available. For whatever reason, hats are fading from popularity. Retailers, in turn, are not specializing in hat making and hat sales. This is a huge deviation from past times when every woman had a great collection of hats. It is something that should be brought back, and brought back strongly. Hopefully, the pendulum of fashion will swing in favor of hats again.
